Radon Mitigation

Iron Dog Inspections

Should my home, school, or building be tested for radon?

Radon mitigation/reduction systems when medium results are 4.0 pCi/L are higher. Iron Dog is a state licensed (RC230) radon mitigation company. Our state license requires us to visit your home and design a radon mitigation system tailored to your home. The system will capture the radon gases and re-route the radon gases from underneath the home to the exterior of the home above the roofline. Iron Dog will guarantee to reduce the radon levels to 3.9 pCi/L or lower. The manufacturer’s warranty on the radon fan is 5 years and the warranty on the workmanship of the system is one year. A post mitigation test is included in the price of the mitigation system. The test will start 24 hours after the system is installed and will run for 48 hours.

Radon, a radioactive gas associated most strongly with lung cancer, can enter your home in a number of ways, including:

Cracks in the floor

Construction joints

Wall cracks

Gaps in upper level floors

Gaps around pipes

Wall cavities

Water supply

And since radon can’t be seen, smelled or tasted, the only way to know for sure that
your home or building’s radon levels are low is radon testing.

Radon Testing

Frequently Asked Questions

The test takes 48 hours with a continuous radon monitor.  The results are known immediately and we are able to email the results shortly after the completion of the test.

Every home should be tested.  The Ohio Department of Health recommends your home be tested every 3-5 years if you do not have a mitigation system and every 1-2 years if you have a mitigation system.
